You may easily modify the name of your store at any moment. If you want to update your store name, you can skip the next topic and directly go to the appropriate section: How to change Shopify Store Name.
Shopify Domain Name
The Shopify domain name belongs to the store URL or website address Shopify generates for you based on the store name you provide. For example, “yourtoyshop.myshopify.com”. This is the default and primary domain name of your Shopify site when you newly create a Shopify Store.
You may wish to keep your own domain name, i.e. “www.yourtoyshop.com”, instead of Shopify’s default domain name. Check out the next topic.
How to Change Shopify Domain Name
Once you create your online store using Shopify, it is tied to the .myshopify.com URL forever. For most Shopify merchants, this isn’t an issue as they have their own domain or go for a new domain purchase to replace the default website address.
With a custom domain name, you may have a URL like “www.storename.com” and your store visitors will not see the “.myshopify.com” in your store URL.

Your new domain may take up to 48 hours to point to your Shopify store. So do not worry if the changes do not appear immediately.
Your new domain has successfully been added to the Shopify dashboard with “Connected” status.
